Welcome to Kirkwood Park! I’m so glad you’re here…

I’m Lisa Marks—a writer, historian, and lifelong storyteller. For most of my life, I’ve been the keeper of other people’s legacies, tending to the dusty corners of history, curating museum rooms, guiding ghost tours, and writing books that gave voice to forgotten lives.

But Kirkwood Park is different.

This time, the story is mine.

It began in a real park I’ve loved since childhood, a multi-generational place that holds sacred memories. It is where my grandmother once pushed me on the swings, where my son learned to play hockey, where my hero, my Uncle Frankie, became King Arthur on a summer stage. That park is long behind me now, but I’ve carried its spirit across decades and miles, tucking it safely into notebooks, memories, and dreams.

I created this fictional rendition of Kirkwood Park as a love letter to my inner child and my future grandchildren, a place where my memories and vivid imagination meet. In the Park, animals talk, but always with gentleness. Old stories echo through trees. A tea party might change your heart.

These stories, videos, and other treasures are designed to slow time and stir the soul. For anyone seeking to add a small dose of beauty, comfort, and gentleness to their lives, I welcome you to Kirkwood Park. I hope you'll find something here that feels like it was waiting just for you.
